The Gulf Coast Council serves youth across eleven counties in Florida and Alabama, dedicated to preparing young people to make ethical and moral choices throughout their lives. This is achieved by instilling the values of the Scout Oath and Law, which emphasize being trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent.

The council offers a variety of programs designed to foster character development, leadership skills, and community engagement, including Cub Scouts for younger children, Scouts BSA for adolescents, and specialized programs like Sea Scouts and Venturing for older youth. Additionally, the council provides enriching experiences through summer camps and youth STEM programs, all aimed at supporting the holistic growth of its participants.
