SSF's expertise spans new structures, existing buildings, and special projects. For new structures, they offer design for commercial, community, educational, faith, hospitality, medical, multi-family, residential, and retail developments.

Their work on existing buildings includes earthquake retrofits, historic preservation, adaptive reuse, PML studies, unreinforced masonry building (URM) solutions, and comprehensive building assessments. Additionally, SSF undertakes unique structural challenges for special projects such as art installations, climbing gyms, float homes, pre-engineered metal buildings, mechanical upgrades, park structures, roof anchor testing, seismic retrofits, and shipping container modifications.
