Inc. is a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization dedicated to positively connecting youth with caring adult volunteers since 1992. The organization strives to scale mentoring efforts to reach more youth, particularly addressing the significant need among the 8.5 million youth aged 5-17 in California. Be A Mentor facilitates general youth mentoring programs and has innovated with a virtual mentoring program, allowing volunteers to connect with mentees online from anywhere.

A key focus is the Foster Youth Mentoring Initiative, which partners with a statewide network of agencies to provide crucial support to vulnerable foster children, utilizing a Volunteer Management System (VMS) as a backbone for multi-agency coalitions. The organization also actively seeks partnerships with schools, companies, and other agencies to expand its reach and impact in youth development.
